Malex Translations is the long-sought dream of Malin Cordisco. When she was a child, she thought that the professional woman in her social circle who was the most fabulous, elegant and wise was a translator and interpreter. Later in life, her mother encouraged her to look for a profession which would allow her to earn an honest living anywhere in the world. Thus, the decision to study Modern Languages with a Minor in Business Management and, later on, a Master’s Degree in International Economics and Marketing.

Her professional career spanned several service industries in different countries, while dabbing into translation projects when required. As the gig economy and internet job boards evolved, she saw an opportunity to seek that old dream and started taking freelance translation projects and, as this activity grew, she felt confident to quit her full-time job as Customer Service Manager.

The business kept evolving and Malin developed her expertise in the legal, financial and medical fields. In parallel, she has coached several new translators in the marketing and sale of their services online and further development of their skills. Also, she has created solid relationships with translators expert in other fields, which allows her to lead multidisciplinary freelance teams customized to the challenges of each project.

In Canada, Malin saw the urgent needs of the immigrant community to translate personal documents for immigration purposes. In response to this need, Malin became a Certified Translator by the Association of Translators and interpreters of Ontario ATIO.

In this new phase, Malin is spearheading new efforts to help others communicate effectively across the globe, supported by other women with a passion for languages who are expanding their vision of employment and looking for new horizons.
